Jinky Jong, allegedly Bobby Fischer’s heir, has finally been excluded as his biological daughter thanks to a paternity test.

The results of Bobby Fischer’s paternity test results are out and finally it is known that Jinky Jong is not his biological daughter. The nine year old girl from the Philippines had earlier this year come forward with her mother who claimed her daughter to be the child of Bobby Fischer and thus, entitled to his estate.

Bobby Fischer does Paternity DNA Test

Bobby Fischer had already been buried in Iceland when the girl and her mother came forward with their claim early in 2010; an exhumation of the corpse was hence, necessary to be able to scientifically verify whether the chess player’s biological daughter was Jinky Jong. After the exhumation, Jong provided a blood sample to be compared in the analysis with that of a sample taken from Fischer, her alleged father.

Whenever the legitimacy of heirs comes into question, it is not uncommon for the legal systems in many countries to issue court ordered paternity tests (often called legal paternity tests) or relationship tests. These paternity tests are done abiding by very strict procedures with all DNA samples verified and notarized.

Bobby Fischer died intestate. Jinky Jong has been excluded as his daughter; however, there are two further possible heirs. His wife, a Japanese woman by the name of Myoko Watay. Her claim is currently somewhat uncertain as there is no proof of their marriage which supposedly took place shortly before the death of the chess player. The other heir is his nephews.

Bobby Fischer is just one of many who have been involved in case requiring paternity test; the fact that it happened post-mortem is somewhat unusual.

An American waitress has come forward claiming to be carrying the child of Cristiano Ronaldo. A paternity test was carried out to determine whether Ronaldo was truly the father.

Top Real Madrid football champion Cristiano Ronaldo has carried out a paternity test to establish whether the Los Angeles waitress was in fact correct when she got in touch with Ronaldo through his agent, Jose Mendes, to tell the football player she was carrying his baby.

Ronaldo allegedly had a one night stand with the woman and is said to have told her “you, me ****, ****”. After Ronaldo left the US, the woman discovered she was pregnant and went on to contact the footballer’s agent to tell him she believed she was carrying his son and have the player carry out a paternity test to prove it. The player has however, refused to disclose the identity of the woman. He says he will tell his son who his mother is when he reaches the age of 18. Ronaldo will make sure the mother lives an affluent life and a settlement has been agreed upon of 15 million $.

Cristiano Ronaldo does Paternity Test

When Ronaldo’s son was born in June 2010, speculations were that his son, named Cristiano just like his father, was born to a surrogate mother. Upon receiving new of the pregnancy, Ronaldo immediately sought his mother, Dolores’ advice. A very catholic family, Dolores strongly encouraged him to take full responsibility of the child and moreover, to provide substantial support for the mother. Ronaldo’s mother claims that such support is crucial so that if ever Cristiano Jr. seeks out his biological mother he will find her well-looked after and provided for.

Once the American waitress came forward with her claim, Ronaldo agreed to a paternity DNA test and thus, to provide the DNA sample required for such a test. However, the test was done after the birth of the child rather than during pregnancy. The result of the paternity test was given to him during the world cup.

Paternity tests are the only scientific means of establishing whether an alleged father is the actually biological father of a child. Cristiano Ronaldo is one of many famous people who have taken a paternity DNA test. Other famous people include German tennis player Benjamin Becker, Golf player Tiger Woods and a host of other celebrities.

Beyone’s father will be taking a paternity DNA test to establish with certainty whether he is the biological father of little Nixon- a child he allegedly had from a long affair while still married to his wife.

The American R&B artist and singer Beyonce Knowles, whose musical carrier began in the band Destiny’s Child, has had her father’s name splashed across the tabloids in a paternity DNA testing dispute. A kind of celebrity by virtue of his daughter, Matthew Knowles’ is also his daughter’s manager and a driving force behind her success. His affair has drawn much criticism.

The whole hype began not too long ago, towards the end of 2009, when a woman named Alexsandra Wright came forward claiming that she was carrying the child of Matthew Knowles. She filed a claim at the L.A County Superior Court in an attempt to get Beyonce’s father to take a paternity DNA test to scientifically prove that he was the father of the child.

Matthew Knowles- Paternity DNA Testing

Alexsandra works in a name branding business and there are only speculations about her age; she is said to be somewhere in her 30s. The claim was filed when she was already 6 months into her pregnancy. The mother-to-be says she was involved in a relationship with Knowles for 18 months. Matthew, Beyonce’s father, has been married to Tina Knowles for 30 years and this affair with his mistress has drawn much criticism. Matthew was ordered to pay temporary monthly support payments towards the child until the result of the paternity test established whether he was the child’s biological father or not.

The results of the paternity DNA test have come out and have proved Aleksandra’s paternity claim: Matthew Knowles is in fact the biological father of the child who has been names Nixon. Aleksandra and Matthew are now trying to go about child payment and maintenance. The singer, Beyonce Knowles and her sister Solange, now need to take on board the fact that they now have a half brother.

How does a Paternity test Work?

A paternity test necessitate the DNA samples from the father, mother and child. Although the mother’s samples are not an absolute necessity they may provide a stronger results and it is likely that since a legal suit was filed in the Matthew Knowles paternity case, that the law would require the mother to submit her samples in order to maximize the accuracy of results of the legal paternity DNA test.

Matthew Knowles, a celebrity-by-proxy, is one of the many names that have made the tabloids in conjunction with a paternity DNA test. While his daughter’s life has been crystal clear of scandal and criticism, her father’s has been somewhat different. Other stars who have taken paternity tests include Keanu Reeves and Mel Gibson.

The news has featured considerably the court case involving middle aged Nwachukwu Ikechukwu and the girl with which he had an affair and who has born his child. A paternity DNA test will likely be needed to solve the rather unusual case.

Cases of alleged affairs between older men and teenage girls are not unusual. What also is not unusual is that the girl ends up pregnant and the father refuses to even acknowledge the child as his own. Paternity DNA testing could potentially solve the issue in a clear cut manner that leaves no shadow of a doubt. However, the problem is often getting the father to consent. Sadly, many times these girls are forced to abort or to bring up a child and raise it without a father.

Nigeria: A court cases involving alleged father Nwachukwu Ikechukwu has featured much in the news. The man is middle aged and is accused of having left the 15 year-old girl (a girl we shall randomly call Alice to protect her identity), with which he had an affair, pregnant. To the girl’s rescue, the Human Right Lawyer, Esther Uzoma is determined to get justice for the girl. The lawyer is pushing for a paternity test and for the alleged father to contribute payments towards the child and the young mother’s education.

Ikechukwu was a friend of girl’s uncle and one day he paid a visit to the uncle’s home. Alice’s uncle was out and Alice happened to be there. Ikechukwu chose to wait with the girl until the uncle returned. He struck up a friendship of sorts and their affair took on from there. During the hearing in court, Alice held her baby in her arms and looked towards the alleged father of her child as he denied the claims of paternity. This Nigeria paternity test claim can be conclusively solved using a DNA test.

In fact, Ikechukwu claimed that he had made love to the girl but somehow made a distinction between making love and penetrative sex; he said he never had intercourse with her. The court, baffled, asked for the defendant to elaborate and Ikechukwu explained how he touched the girl and made love to her with his hands; he said, however, that he never touched her lower body. He admitted to having an erection, although his lawyer, Uwem U. Umoanwan, claimed the illiteracy of his client precluded him from even knowing what an erection meant.

The man claimed he could not be the biological father of the child as the affair took place in July and the child was born in February. Nine months did not elapse and thus he could not assume paternity for it. Moreover, the time between Alice noticing she was pregnant and the birth of the child was just 6 months. This further made Ikechukwu believe he could not be the father. However, it is possible for a woman to bleed during the early stages of pregnancy which often lead her to assume she is still menstruating. Sometimes bleeding is caused by the shedding of the lining of the uterine wall during pregnancy. There may also be other causes that are hormone related.

Uzoma, Alice’s lawyer asked the court to solve the issue by means of a DNA paternity test. The court has not yet agreed on this, but ultimately this test is the only test that can scientifically establish with accuracy whether Ikechukwu is really the biological father of the child.

A prenatal paternity test is carried out before the child is born to determine the paternity of that child. It is important to fully understand what this test involves should you be thinking of doing one as this will help you make an informed choice.

It would seem a good idea to some people to solve paternity issues before a child is born and save having to live for months in doubt and emotional turmoil. A prenatal paternity test is an option; however, doing the test before the child is born needs some further thought as there are certain implications that could be moral/ethical as well as medical.

Prenatal Paternity Testing: Know Paternity before the Birth of the Child

It is of course possible to do a DNA test before the child is actually born. There are two types of pre-natal tests and both are used depending on the stage in the pregnancy and technique favored by the clinic or hospital.

The first type of test, amniocentesis, is carried out anywhere between the 14th and 20th week of pregnancy. The procedure is invasive and involves inserting a needle through the abdomen into the womb. The doctor will draw amniotic fluid from the amniotic sac which surrounds the baby which will contain the necessary DNA to carry out the pre-natal paternity test. The procedure is carried out under local anesthetic and an ultra sound is used to guide the needle into the correct place.

Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) is another means to carry out a DNA test on an unborn child. A doctor would in such a case enter the womb through the vaginal cervix to obtain samples of the finger-like protrusions on the uterine wall known as chorionic villi. These villi are a result of the fertilization of the egg and contain the same genetic makeup as that of the child. This test is carried out a bit earlier to amniocentesis – normally anywhere between the 10th- 13th week of pregnancy.

Ethical and Medical Issues to Consider for your baby DNA test

Ethical issues centre on whether having the pre-natal test done may lead to terminating the pregnancy if the results are not the desired ones; but that is a personal choice. To some, pre-natal genetic testing is like opening a Pandora’s Box. Besides establishing paternity, CVS and amniocentesis can be used to check whether the child suffers from certain genetic conditions such as Down’s syndrome. Again, results of such a test may instigate one to abort the child if they know the child will suffer from any genetic conditions or be handicapped.

Medical issues centre on the chances of harming the unborn child or causing stress on the child which may lead to a miscarriage. Paternity testing before birth procedure is invasive and the risks are as with any invasive procedure.

A DNA test should ideally be done after the child is born. This involves no risks or ethical issues. Some DNA testing companies do not offer prenatal paternity test for the above reasons. The test is also more expensive as it requires a medical specialist.
